Expanding the last message thread (bottom) of a newsgroup with many messages,
scrolling to the bottom and up again, and then collapsing this thread can make
the whole message list disappear from the message list window, and the only way
to recover is to select another newsgroup and then reselect the original one.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Threaded view, select a newsgroup with a long/deep message thread as last
message of the newsgroup (flag the first message of a long thread, sort by
thread, reverse sort order so that the flagged message is at the bottom of the
list).
2. Expand the thread
3. scroll to the bottom of the thread, using the scrollbar.
4. scroll up so that the first message in the upper half of the list window.
5. Collaps the thread
Actual Results: list window blanks out, shows no messages, not even on scrolling
This can be observed most of the times, the list window sould not be too small.
My favorite thread to reproduce this: n.p.m.ui>splashscreens

It seems the message thread does not have to be necessarily the bottom-most of
the newsgroup. Works today with thread n.p.m.ui>splashscreen even if there are
newer messages beyond it.

I cannot reproduce this bug any more with 2001031604 (and probably earlier).
