Perhaps the layout.word_select.eat_space_to_next_word pref should be set to false in Fennec?

Perhaps the layout.word_select.eat_space_to_next_word preference should be set to false by default in Fennec?

It might help a little bit with circumventing of the right selecting handle appearing in weird places after long tapping a word.

The selected text is trimmed for spaces for copying, anyway.
It turns out this is already the case on Android. This pref is set on the platform level.
