User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-au) AppleWebKit/531.2+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/531.2+ Debian/squeeze (2.30.6-2) Epiphany/2.30.6 Steps to reproduce: Accessed www.yahoo.com.br's home page and clicked on the Email tag. Actual results: I was taken to the log-in form. I logged in and the next page was displayed notifying me of the number of e-mails unread, plus the usual load of irrelevant garbage. I clicked on the Spam folder and Bug Buddy started running. Expected results: I should have been able to view new messages in the Spam folder.
We either need a stacktrace with debug symbols generated manually with GDB or a crash ID from a Mozilla.org binary build. -> https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

Ran iceweasel (firefox) via GDB (an old version -- not the latest) and accessed my e-mail at www.yahoo.com.br and it crashed with a segmentation fault.
nsDisplayClip::Paint is layout ? Please try a more recent version, Gecko1.9.1/Firefox3.5 reached it's EOL at Mozilla. It's very unlikely that this will be fixed by Mozilla.

Hi Matthias, I'm a Debian Linux user and the latest version of iceweasel is 3.5.19-3. I have no idea of the firefox version on which it is based. According to the package manager, I have the current version installed. It works fine with all other sites. My mail from the php list goes to yahoo and I'm able to read it using epiphany, as it only shows one image and formats the rest in text only mode.
3.5.x is behind it's "End of life" as far as Mozilla is concerned. Debian and other linux distributions are maintaining it but only security bugs are fixed and not crashes like this one. Firefox3.5 is from june 2009 and that is a very long time for a browser.
Hi Mathias, once a week I check the repositories for upgrades and guess what, this week iceweasel is now version 5.0-6. So I upgraded and so far no problems. Why are the Debian repositories light years behind?? I always assumed iceweasel was up-to-date.
I think Debian is very conservative with upgrades to new major versions. This is a good idea for most software if you run a server but it's a little bit different with Browsers. The web is changing very fast. I hope it's ok for you that i mark this bug report wontfix.

Hi Matthias, Yes, please "finalise" this bug report. I hope the Debian maintainers of iceweasel keep it up to date given the fact that people are using browsers to buy books, pay bills, etc. on line and the need for security.
>and the need for security. Mozilla doesn't provide security updates after the EOL date but several linux distributions together are backporting security patches. Security is no problem with the 3.5.x builds but you don't get fixes for non security related bugs like this crash.
