When a user requests it, we need to take the xpi and alter the install.rdf to add in the updateURL element. This will contain an element name which contains something to point back to AMO. So we'll probably need to get the xpi, unzip in memory, alter file and rezip, then allow it to be served back to the user. At this time the variable name and variable contents are undefined. But lets go for the users AMO primary key and the variable name "purchaser". With the understand that these will change later. Ensure we've got timing data on this so we can see how well it performs. This bug is just for creating the function to create the watermarked add-on for the user.
I'd like to user the user's email address if possible. It's one more tiny reason they should be hesitant to share the file.
Sure, was just concerned about privacy and the "Hide email address from other users" option.
If their email address goes to other users, they'll be the ones giving it to them.
