Attachment #553393 - Attachment description: firefox-bug2.jpg → screenshot submenu
Severity: normal → major
Summary: Faulty display of submenus → Submenus displayed transparently
Build ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110815 Firefox/8.0a1 I could not reproduce the issue. Is it reproducible on a clean profile? Is it windows theme related? From the screenshots, I presume you have the win xp theme. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles
Reporter, do you have any updates on this bug (as suggested in Comment 3)? Thanks
Hi AndreiD, I haven't put any effort into it yet. But the problem still exists in FF 7.0.1.
(In reply to Marcel from comment #5) > Hi AndreiD, I haven't put any effort into it yet. But the problem still > exists in FF 7.0.1. Please see if the issue is reproducible on a clean Firefox profile http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles If not the case, it might be some add-on/extension incompatibility or a faulty migration of the profile from another previous Firefox version.
We also had several people complaining about this using Firebug. See e.g. https://groups.google.com/d/topic/firebug/3K4b_5Wmzio/discussion. It seems to be related to hardware acceleration. When turning it off, the menus are displayed correctly. Though I didn't see that problem by myself yet, so I can't give any more info. Sebastian
And we had another issue report of Firebug describing the same symptoms: http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/detail?id=5922 The reporter in our issue said he also can reproduce that on a fresh profile. Bug 634858 and bug 775503 describe the same problem. And it can be fixed by disabling hardware acceleration. So it's unrelated to add-ons or themes. Sebastian
Was this on a secondary monitor?
Depends on: 800701
From what I saw by my testing for bug 800701, this was just on the secondary monitor, yes. And I could reproduce it on FF 17.0 but not on FF 20.0a1 using the same profile. I didn't ask the original reporter of the Firebug issue if that was on a secondary monitor. Let me know if I should. Sebastian
