User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:5.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0.1 Build ID: 20110707182747 Steps to reproduce: Build ID: Mozilla /5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110815 Firefox/8.0a1 Fennec/8.0a1 Device: Motorola DROID2 (Android 2.2) Steps to reproduce: 1. Install this Add-on: <http://people.mozilla.com/~nhirata/fennec/addons/fennec-sample-a.xpi> 2. Restart the browser 3. Go to the Addons Manager and click on "Update". Actual results: "Checking for updates..." is displayed under extension, but no update is performed. Old version of the extension is still displayed and installed. Expected results: 1.Restart notification appears. 2.You should see the newer extension installed and upon restarting the browser, the newer version should work fine. 3.Also confirm that the new extension is listed in the Extensions window; the older version should have been replaced.

This works for me fine, when I tap: 'Check for Updates', I get the notification panel mentioning a restart is required and I see the status text under the row for the extension indicating that it updated to 2.0 Not sure what you're expecting?

I'm able to reproduce this issue on the latest Nightly build. Also I've tried this on Aurora and Beta builds and there it was the same actual result. -- Build id : Mozilla/5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:8.0a1)Gecko/20110816 Firefox/8.0a1 Fennec/8.0a1 Device: HTC Desire Z OS: Android 2.3.3

I've tried to reproduce this issue, but I can't seem to do so. When this occurs, can you check to see if you can go to http://people.mozilla.com/~nhirata/fennec/addons/ as a directory within fennec please? I just want to confirm that you can still reach that directory when this occurs.
This issue is still reproducible on the latest Nightly build. -- Build id : Mozilla/5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:9.0a1)Gecko/20110831 Firefox/9.0a1 Fennec/9.0a1 Device: HTC Desire Z OS: Android 2.3.3
