User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0 Build ID: 20110811165603 Steps to reproduce: Messages are sorted by date. I choose a specific email with a specific sender. Click on Sort by sender (for example) Actual results: When I click on sort by sender, the current record (email) gets lost. A record with the same relative position in the list as before is chosen. Makes the new sort order completely useless, unless you can find the record again. Expected results: The current highlighted record should still be highlighted and the window should move around the current record

Jacques did it work differently in the past for you ?
I found out the exact sequence. This behavior only happens when "View" | "Sort By" | "Grouped by sort" is enabled (which is MY default). I have always experienced it. When other sort orders are chosen, then changing the sort order keeps the current record.
Summary: change of sort order looses current record → change of sort order looses current record when "Grouped by Sort"
I have only tested "Sort By"|"Unthreaded" vs "Sort By"|"Grouped by sort". and use the mouse to change the sort order.
