RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 680368

(Reporter: steefy389, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Build ID: 20110816154714

Steps to reproduce:

With Firefox 7 the standard protocol (http) isn't shown anymore in the location bar. In my opinion this is useful for most users, but I think for me that it should always been shown for example to switch between normal and secure connection with just adding one letter and not the complete protocol.

Expected results:

My solution: Add a user preference so that users can decide themselves if they want to hide the http or not
about:config find and set browser.urlbar.trimURLs to false

Thanks,I searched for "protocol" and "http" and didn't found it in the config. Maybe add this to the normal settings?
Bug 680368 requests a user-visible preference for this.
