Steps to reproduce:
The FF version I'm using is v6.0 (the last one out officially).
Using jQuery v1.3.2, I wanted to get a toggled (invisible using jQuery) element's position.
Actual results:
I tried three different ways:
1. $(element).css("top") returned "auto"
2. $(element).position().top threw an exception:
TypeError: this[0].ownerDocument is null
3. $.curCSS($("#right-line"), "top") threw an exception:
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMWindow.getComputedStyle]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: http://localhost:65166/Web/Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 808" data: no]
Expected results:
Both the second and third way should've returned the exact position.
I recon the 2nd way might be a bug in jQuery, though I'm not using the newest version, but the 3rd is actually an application exception.
Bugzilla is not the right place to get problems with jquery solved, as long as there is no evidence for a browser bug.
Have you asked here: http://forum.jquery.com/ ?
