User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:9.0a1) Gecko/20110823 Firefox/9.0a1 Build ID: 20110823030804 Steps to reproduce: In portrait mode, if you type starting a url, it's auto-completed and a user can click enter. However in landscape mode, this functionality is missing.
OS: Windows 7 → Android
Hardware: x86 → ARM
Works for me in current trunk build.
STR: 1/ Put phone in landscape mode 2/ Open Fennec 3/ Open AwesomeScreen 4/ Start typing "planet" 5/ Wait for suggestion of "planet.mozilla.org" Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: It should auto complete as per what Opera does.
Is this with a hardware keyboard. For me, the software keyboard completely takes up the screen while typing. When dismissing the software keyboard, the awesomebar suggestions for planet.mozilla.org appear just fine. This is on the LG Optimus Black, Android 2.2.
With a software keyboard. If you can see how Opera Mobile implement it, you'd see that they still have auto-complete on despite the keyboard and editor taking up the full screen.

Ah, now I know what you mean! You mean inline autocomplete inside the virtual keyboard. Just an url I googled about this feature: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6479213/android-autocomplete-and-soft-keyboard

Not quite, that covers bug 681605. This bug is about in-line autocomplete. I've attached an attachment of Opera's implementation.
