Created attachment 555815 [details]
Timezone menu in the Preferences/Timezone tab.

After installing Lightning and Provider for Google Calendar I found that neither component worked as intended. In the Lightning calendar tab I can not change the view from day to week, multiweek, etc. The Google calendar tab button is not present at all.

The menu items to create new events and tasks are present but are not selectable. You cannot create a new event or task by either double clicking the day or entering text into the 'Create new task here' bar. You can enter text into the bar but it reverts to the original text when the focus is not on it.

The timezone tab in Lightnings preferences has no options and is only a few pixels high. (see attached image)

I also noticed that when they are installed minimize to tray revived does not work but when they have been removed it does.

What Linux distribution and version do you use? What Thunderbird version do you use? What Lightning version do you use? Do you use the official Thunderbird and Lightning builds from mozilla.org or custom builds from your Linux distribution? Do see any error messages in the Error Console?

My apologies I thought some of this information had been added to the post automatically.

I am using Ubuntu 10.10, Thunderbird 7.0 (Shredder I believe) and I installed the Lightning that is listed in the Thunderbird beta PPA.

This is the first time I have used a beta build and I did not think to check the error console.
You can lookup the correct version in Help > About... and Help > Troubleshooting information.

Currently there don't exist Lightning builds that will work with Thunderbird 7 Beta. You have to wait until either Bug 680099 or Bug 673089 is fixed and a build is provided.

Depends on: 680099
Summary: Issues with Lightning and 1 other add-ons → Issues with Lightning (can't change the view from day to week, multiweek, etc.) and Google calendar tab button is not present at all.
Does this bug still exist with Thunderbird 7 and Lightning 1.0b7?
shiftylem, is this still an issue using the recently released Lightning 1.0 (compatible with Thunderbird 8) and Google Calendar provider 0.9?
