User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0 Build ID: 20110811165603 Steps to reproduce: Set Options | General, "When Firefox starts" setting to "Show my windows and tabs from last time". OK, it works if you have at least one tab loaded. But if you close all tabs so there will be only 1 "about:blank" tab and close browser, then after you start it again it often loads some random pages you visited in the past. Actual results: Does not restore properly with one "about:blank" tab only. Expected results: It should start with one "about:blank" tab.
This bug exists in 3.x, 4.x and 5.x versions of Firefox also.
Component: General → Session Restore

Those random pages should be your home page(s). Closing with only a blank tab currently treats that as a blank session, so it doesn't get restored. There's a bug somewhere on this issue, but I can't seem to find it right now.

Summary: Bug restoring last tabs → Quitting with only 1 blank tab resets session
No, those random pages are not my home pages. They are just some random pages I visited in the past.

@Alervd, are you able to reproduce this with Firefox 9.0a1 using while running in safe mode or using a new profile?
Just follow these steps: 1. Open Firefox with 1 blank tab. 2. Open some web site in it 3. Open some link from this web site in new window. 4. Close opened window 5. Close opened web site leaving 1 blank tab 6. Exit Firefox. 7. Open Firefox. It will open web page from third point instead of opening with just blank tab. I'll check 9 version when i have time for it.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:13.0a1) Gecko/20120212 Firefox/13.0a1 I followed the steps from comment #6 on the latest Nightly and at step 7 the home page is opened. Alervd, do you still see the issue?
Sorry, but now I use another option - always start with a blank tab. But, I discovered another bug. Sorry. ))) When I'm trying to log in on some web page - it always asks me to store password or not. And I always tell it to not store. But it asks again and again. Stupidly. ... Oh.....

How do you tell it not to store? When you log in, the doorhanger appears and you can choose from "Never Remember Password for This Site" or "Not Now". If you choose the first one it should not prompt again, but if you select the later it should ask every time until you select to "Remember Rassword" or "Never Remember Password for This Site".
