The subject line on email sent by the try server are mostly in the same format. When a submission requests to see all messages the client mailbox is a little too generic and the user must drill down into each to find what they are looking for. Subject realestate is obviously limited but it would be nice to have a few decorations added to make finding content a little easier. For the initial message containing: "Thanks for your try submission ...." o maybe suffix '- request', '-submit' o so it will be easy to find the list of files submitted with a job For platform logs suffix a simple, generic platform string: o [-win]: windows o [- mac]: darwin, mac, mac64 o [- mobile]: android, mamemo, ... Finally for the 'try:' checkin line added by "hg qref" for the submission. o It would be handy to add a short string that could be appended to the subject line for reference. o At a minimum being able to specify "bug: xxx" will make it very easy to find a given set of logs when multiple distinct patches are being tested.

Also if the qref/checkin message were allowed to have multiple fields to specify both a patch comment line and try server arguments derived values would be available and it would save a little work. When switching between exporting patches for bugzilla and submitting to the try server the checkin comment needs to change each time. If a delimited format were allowed say: "bug xxx - fixing stuff ; try: -b do -e -p all -u all" Try server email messages could include bug# in the subject line most of the time. Whatever mechanism is handling message subject line in bugzilla could split on the ';' delimiter and discard the 'try:....' arguments. This would reduce the number of times users must alter their checkin message to changing try server arguments or logic has changed enough to modify the primary checkin line.

Hasn't been touched in years so it seems like this isn't a very highly wanted feature, closing.
