Thunderbird and SeaMonkey announcements usually arrive on mozilla.announce a day after the date/time on the message. I assume it's because those message had to wait for moderation.
AFAIK, the reason for the group being moderated to begin with is to prevent it from being used for discussion. I don't think adding a person from each team would hurt the noise level, and it would fix the lag for announcements.

Fwiw, I do/have had announce moderation rights (I was given the password a while back) for SeaMonkey announcements.
I have recently however run into Bug 684164 that has been biting me in the bum.
I plan for SeaMonkey 2.3.3 to do the post my normal way and have someone else approve it, in order to see if it goes through. Since the reason this has been broken for me has been utterly confusing. (Since I can properly approve moderated messages from other teams).

Is there still anything to do here? If so, I can't fix this, so the bug needs to go to server-ops, with the name(s) of the people to be added.
