User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0 Build ID: 20110902161802 Steps to reproduce: I have saved my HTTP Authentification login credentials for a private website. I have come back to this website. Actual results: The Authentification dialog shows up. Immediately, the Android software keyboard shows up. I think this is because the User field is active. The Android software keyboard hides the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons. This is why one needs to press "Enter" or "Back" to hide the keyboard and be able to login. Expected results: Because I have a saved password for this website, maybe the "OK" button should be active, and the Android software keyboard should not show.
OS: Windows XP → Android
Hardware: x86 → ARM
I think this was fixed in bug 672228 and should appear in Firefox 8. You could try testing in Aurora and see if the solution fits your needs.
