I am revisiting this despite all similar bugs in the list being marked as FIXED or WFM, because it isn't fixed and doesn't work for me. When I save an e-mail, I want it to be opened again by SeaMonkey, not by Apple Mail or MS Entourage. If I go to Save as.../HTML, it is saved as a .eml file, which subsequently activates Mail or Entourage when double-clicked. The only way I can save e-mails with .html termination is by manually changing the termination, either while saving or afterwards.

2.0.x branch is outdated now, is this still reproducible in latest SeaMonkey versions?

Probably a duplicate of Bug 339596 - Save As dialog, save always with *.eml suffix (also with user choice is *.*, *.html, *.txt)
