Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.21) Gecko/20110830 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Firefox/3.6.21
Build ID: 20110830200850
Steps to reproduce:
Go to Tools/Downloads
Actual results:
nothing at all
Expected results:
The Downloads window should show up.
It worked up to yesterday, so it must be a problem in a recent update.
Are you really using Firefox 3.6.21? Are there any messages in the linux terminal or Firefox Error console? Is this an official Firefox build downloaded from mozilla.org or a modified Ubuntu version?

Yes I am really using it... I guess you ask because it's pretty old, well, it's the latest one that I get with automatic updates through Ubuntu (10.10).
Which kind of answers your second question, it's the version distributed with Ubuntu, I don't know whether it is modified.
Ok, what about the error messages? And what was the latest update? From 3.6.20 -> .21? Or how does Ubuntu call it?

What error messages?
The version currently installed is 3.6.21.
I only _guess_ the issue comes from an update because this wasn't happening until yesterday and I haven't touched any settings.

oh SORRY the error console.
Oh yes indeed, it shows up this error just after trying to open Downloads:
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://browser/content/browser.js :: BrowserDownloadsUI :: line 2977" data: no]
Yes, those messages, good there is one.
Does it happen in Safe mode?

Ehm sorry, I have JUST upgraded to version 6 (found out I could install it nicely thanks to ubuntuzilla - too bad it wasn't more visible from the main download page) and the issue is gone now.

Setting to Works For Me then. If you re-encounter the issue, please re-open.
