User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0 Build ID: 20110811165603 Steps to reproduce: Opened IE7 and Firefox 6 side-by-side. Selected some text from inside IE window and dragged it inside Firefox window. Actual results: While dragging the text, mouse pointer turns to STOP (or no action) cursor. Irrespective of whether I keep my mouse pressed or released, both the windows become unresponsive. I should kill both of them and launch them again. Expected results: Nothing or Firefox should prompt user that the text droppedin it is an invalid URL.
Works fine for me on: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:9.0a1) Gecko/20110922 Firefox/9.0a1 After dragging the text from IE into Firefox I get the prompt: "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" or the text is just pasted if I drop it on a search box. Reporter, please can you confirm whether this issue is still reproducible when you start Firefox in safe mode or with a clean profile?http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
