Details

The "Restore Previous Session" button in the Aurora builds is does nothing after the machine crashed.
Could you please provide more info? What are the steps to reproduce? what are your session store prefs? What addons do you have installed? Does this happen in safe mode or with a new profile? Does this happen on the latest nightly?

In the future, the more information you can give when filing your bug the better. Its impossible to diagnose the problem you are seeing as described.

Thanks
I have the same problem.
I've disabled all Plugins and Add-ons to check if it could be because of one of them and the problem persists.
So when I exit normally Firefox(File->Exit), it has to save my session by default.
After restart the default page appear with Restore Previous Session Button.
When clicking it just happens nothing. It do not work, and I lose all the session.
I have to close with force the Firefox process to have all my tabs back.
If the firefox is close forced(system crash), the session is restore.

The versions of Firefox where this bug replicates at my system is 7.0.1 and 8.0

Please, resolve this bug, it a necessary feature for a lot of people!
I don't like Chrome, but I can't use Firefox temporary because of this. I lost 4 times all my work.
I just tested using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:9.0a2) Gecko/20111108 Firefox/9.0a2. I crashes and then pressed the restore button and it did restore my session.

Andrew, can you describe reliable steps to reproduce? Do you have certain websites open when you quit? What operating system? Describe your exact steps to make this happen so we can help figure it out. Thanks!
Ryan, Andrew...

The problem is solved by using Session Manager extension:
http://sessionmanager.mozdev.org/
It works great!

rtilder,
1. this was a machine hang, correct?
2. do you recall (memory test), was there even a list of tabs to be restored?

thanks for the info. and that's great, but doesn't help us with this bug. But more important, it's not clear your issue is the same as reporter's, who states (indeed it is the bug summary) that is is after a machine crash.

The machine usually winds up hanging(I am the bane of all Apple laptops). Not an uncommon issue with 15" MBPs of a certain generation, as I understand it. I do believe that there was a list of tabs displayed.

I have not been able to reproduce this issue for at least the past 6 months(and probably a year) even on the crashier of my two laptops. And when I say crashier, I mean it locks with video driver issues at least once a week.

Thanks, Ryan! Based on the previous comment I'm going to mark this as WFM. I hope the issues reported here have been fixed by one of the many stability patches that have gone into SessionStore in the last year. Please reopen or file a new bug if you see this happening again.
