Device:  HTC Desire Z

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start fennec in portrait mode.
2. Go to any site with a textfield, eg: www.google.com
3. Tap on the textfield and start typing a word.
4. Slide out HKB.
5. Use HKB to finish the word.

Expected results: 
  Focus to the textfield is kept when opening hard keyboard, and word can be finished using the HKB.

Actual results:
 Focus to the text field was lost. User needs to tap on the text field again to be able to use the HKB.

I can't reproduce this using the Sept-26 nightly on my G2(Desire Z). Can you still reproduce What software keyboard are you using?

I was able to reproduce issue on latest nightly using default android keyboard and SwiftKey keyboard also

I think I understand.  It goes from portrait but when the VKB comes out, it forces landscape.  

The default browser will remain having the focus.
