From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; 0.6) Gecko/20001205
BuildID: 20001205
Some of the images on sites which contain alot of images fails to load them and
displayes that the document was done. even upon reload, it still fails to load
some images. This is weird since it's a random image problem. (Load ALL images
is enabled in Prefs).
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
Simple goto the site www.space.com and ensure that all images are displayed, if
yes, try other sites with alot of images.
If no, reload the page, and you get the same problem of images failing to display.
Actual Results: went to the site www.space.com , if failed to load it and
display the entire site, said document done (21secs). restarted browser... and
it loaded but with images missing. reloaded the page and more images were missing.
Expected Results: obviously, upon trying to goto that url first time, it should
have loaded the page with ALL images.
I started seeing this problem after installing the Java2 plugin from netscape -
such as when you goto www.discovery.co.uk it requires the java2 plugin. Even
after installing this plugin, it still fails to display java - this is another bug.
The same problem exists with mozilla 0.7 - i switched back to 0.6 since i didn't
get as many crashes. but the same problem exists in both builds. I uninstalled
java2, but again, pages fail to display, and if the site displayes, it lacks images.

hmm...
works for me...
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; m18) Gecko/20010208
There are at least two other bugs reporting the same issue. Also note that on
build 2001021206 (NT) some images indeed didn't load for me as well.

Reporter, you're using Mozilla 0.6? If so, please try a more recent build -- the
mozilla 0.6 tree is over 4 months old.
I see no problems with image loading with linux build 2001-02-14-08

right, i now have a more recent build... 20010801 10
images now load fully, but when scrolling the page up/down with
the wheel on mouse or the arrow keys, images get distorted...
as in, they are blacked out.
If you highlight the image, it then displays properly.
I think this only happens with gif's.
if you visit www.ptvplus.com, the image on front page is distorted,
but after highlighting it, it clears up.
This problem doesn't occur at work where i use the same version
but on a computer with a matrox graphics card.
Here (at home), i've got an ATI Rage.
However, i don't think there is a problem with my card, since other browsers
and programs display images perfectly.

I have tested this with other graphics cards,
Mozilla displays images with nVidia and Matrox cards properly.
I have also tested it with 3 different ATI cards, all three DO NOT render images
properly. However, this problem does NOT occur in netscape 4 or ie 4, 5.0, and 5.5.
So clearly it cannot be a problem with the card, or something.
..very strange.
surely, others with an ati and win95 / 98 / winnt can verify this ??
