In talking with Christian Boer he has expressed a desire for us to use his Studio Dyslexie font(http://www.studiostudio.nl/project-dyslexie/) as an accessibility option for dyslexic users. This font was developed with the University of Twente specifically to assist people with dyslexia. Quote from email: "I set my typeface dyslexie in Firefox as favorite typeface so i can read websites and mail in the typeface and i advice also to all my clients to do the same. And Firefox is the only easy one you can set it in. Now is my idea that Mozzila can build this also in the browser itself. So people with dyslexia could select it in the menu of Firefox. So Firefox is the first dyslexia friendly browser in the world. The typeface it not heavy like 53 kb so the program will not be to heavy. And it will help allot of people, about 15% to 20% of the U.S. population has a reading disability dyslexia. And Firefox will grow in popularity. The only thing is that i would is that it is build in the browser and easy to select."
Adding David Bolter from Accessibility to get his take on this.
+1 for idea. David can you drive it?
