This bug occured on Netscape 6 built with tag: tag: -r Netscape_6_0_OEM_BRANCH -D "01/19/2001 10:00:00" Steps to reproduce the bug: Go to url: http://www.cygwin.com/xfree/ click on File->Send page and send the page to yourself. Use Netscape 6 mail to read the email message. Browser crashed when the message window was scrolled down each time..
I think this was reported and fixed, but I'm not sure when. (I'm using bonsai to look it up now, I'll report back. does it crash for you on a recent trunk build? how about a more recent build from the OEM branch?
I take that back, it was something else (with string bundles), which crashed on start up. it was probably checked in before 1/19. let me see if I can reproduce this on my trunk builds.
questions: 1) when you sent the page, was the message compose window in html compose mode, or plain text. 2) did you send it to an IMAP or POP account? 3) "Browser crashed when the message window was scrolled down each time.." do you mean when you scrolled down in the message window, after the message came up? can you get a stack trace? does viewing that page in browser, and scrolling there, cause a crash? I did some assertions when viewing the message, but no crashes. the assertions are known and covered in another bug. (let me go find it.)

The browser crashed when I tried to scroll down the message window in the NS6 mailer. The browser does not crash if I go to the url and and scroll down in the browser.. Fyi, this was seen to happen on 6.01 on windows NT platform too. I'm updating the OS platform to All. -raghu

the top of your stack has: nsImapUrl::GetImapMailFolderSink(nsIImapMailFolderSink **) 6.01 != trunk, can you try on a trunk build to see if it has been fixed recently? (I'm not crashing on the trunk build and the code for GetImapMailFolderSink() on the trunk seems pretty crash proof.) updating summary.

This bug is verified to be fixed in the nightly tip of the tree build. I believe i had updated the bug with this info. on 2/14 itself. Surprised to see that it never got updated. Sorry about the delay.. -raghu
