Slashdot is currently suffering from some serious issues - lots of things aren't working, and people are unable to log in. We can't possibly consider releasing Mozilla 0.8 until they are back up and running, so that lots of Linux zealots and armchair coders can log on and slag off our hard work in a specially-prepared forum. Also, how could we live without an avalanche of insight that Slashdot is not Freshmeat, and so shouldn't carry software releases. I've been looking forward to that for months. Suggested fix: Hold back the release of Mozilla 0.8 until we've had CmdrTaco's personal guarantee that the world has begun spinning again, peace has broken out in Israel and ESR has fed all his guns to a hippo. I want to see an MPEG of esr feeding his guns to a hippo. Do you think he'd unload them before the feeding?
"Suggested fix: Hold back the release of Mozilla 0.8 until we've had CmdrTaco's personal guarantee that the world has begun spinning again, peace has broken out in Israel and ESR has fed all his guns to a hippo." I suggest we release 0.8 5 days after slashdot announces it. This way we can assure people to create interesting and productive talkback, leading us to develop a better product and thus advance to godhood.
Resolving worksforme because slashdot is up and we have released. Good work all.
I suggest releasing Mozilla 0.8, then sending as many people as possible to the slashdot site to say how good Mozilla 0.8 is, thus reversing the slashdot effect and giving them a taste of their own medicene for a change. We could also see how many posts we can get moderated down as flamebait for stating the facts.
Mozilla 0.9.3 has been released and 0.9.4 will be released shortly. Slashdot still has problems. On the other hand they slashdotted Bugzilla... Vfy
