Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Build ID: 20110922153450

Steps to reproduce:

With the http protocol hidden by default, now when I try to copy just the hostname, it includes the http protocol too. Hence I've had to disable the hiding of the http protocol so that it behaves like it use to.

Actual results:

The http protocol was included

Expected results:

I should have only gotten the hostname or whatever part of the url I copied
I should mention that I can't hide the url if I want the copy and paste to function properly. Hiding the protocol is in my opinion a dumb idea. It doesn't simplify things, it only makes them frustrating.

To not hide the protocol I went to about:config and searched for trimurl. One entry should come up, double click on it to change it to false.
