Details
We have the ability to associate add-ons with other add-ons and say they are required (see https://addons-dev.allizom.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-watch/ for an example which might be overwritten at some point).
There is no enforcement of the requirement at this point, we simply display the message. I'm filing this bug because that information isn't in the API yet, but probably should be. Do you have a preference for how the info is displayed there?

We explicitly removed support for required add-ons in Firefox 4, I'm surprised to hear it was added to AMO and am not sure we want to do anything with it in the client.

Ok, let's expose it in the API in a reasonable fashion, to be determined by implementer. :)
