Very recently K9 mail on my Android phone has started failing to connect to mail.mozilla.com with the error "RSA_padding_check_PKCS1_type_1: block type is not 01". This wasn't the case a little while ago; on September 21 I successfully sent an email through mail.m.c.

smtp.mozilla.org is the preferred relay host - do you get the same error on that?

It seems not! I wonder why mail.mozilla.com broke, though.

Good question. smtp.m.o is stock postfix. Zimbra's instance of postfix (i think that's what it is) might have some knob that needs touching.
IIRC the mail.mozilla.com instance is only exposed on the firewall because of Blackberry clients that refused to use a different domain name to send mail or somesuch. As long as it still works with the Blackberry clients we probably don't want to touch it.

Certificate validates and hasn't expired. OpenSSL on OS X seems to like it.

For grins I just set it up in K-9 on my HTC Evo, and sent a test mail, which succeeded:
