This idea has just occured to me after I had to kill plugin-container to unfreeze Firefox. When a plugin crashes, the crashed plugin page presents the user with a link to reload the page, which is cool. What would also be nice is a way to save the file in question. One way to implement it is to add a second link. The other, less exposed, but still very acceptable, is to simply enable the context menu for the current 'Reload page' link. The reason why this makes sense is rather simple: in some cases (like mine), the file shown in a plugin may make very much sense as a standalone document. In those cases, simply downloading the file and opening it in a standalone application is a good enough workaround for the crashing plugin problem.
I'm not sure whether this is specific to crashed plugins: it probably also applies to click-to-play plugins, and it makes sense to add this to the plugin context menu any time we don't/can't actually load the plugin. But this is a low-priority item, I think.
