RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 688395

People

(Reporter: zerkeybox, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1
Build ID: 20110928134238

Steps to reproduce:

In earlier versions of Firefox, I could type in "shirt.woot" or "answers.yahoo", and then hold Control and press Enter. This would automatically change my entry to "http://shirt.woot.com" or "http://answers.yahoo.com" respectively. When I try this now, it does not add the ".com" and the webpage is not displayed.

Actual results:

The shortcut Control+Enter still works fine on single word entries such as "woot" or "yahoo", changing them to "http://www.woot.com" and "http://www.yahoo.com" correctly. For whatever reason, it no longer works on URLs with a "."

Expected results:

This needs to be fixed so Firefox correctly adds ".com" to location bar entries with a "." Thank you.
