It's especially true when starting to type a complete url (http://something), the results I get for e.g. "http://www.google" are completely different from the ones I get for "http://www.google.". This is also true for non-urls, though there could be a logical explanation for that.
Doesn't this depend on what you have in the history? We'd need to know that. Can you please provide a screenshot.
