Then I opened the Addons Manager by going to Tools Menu:Addons. Then I closed the Addons by clicking the X and went back to my Inbox. Actual results: The Windows (XP) Task Manager still showed Addons. Expected results: It should have shown Inbox.

FYI: Going to any other folder, and toggling back to Inbox corrects the problem and puts Inbox in the task bar.

Can you attach a screenshot? You selected TB 8, was this a problem on any older versions of Thunderbird?

(This certainly minor, with an easy workaround, and almost cosmetic.) "I went in to email" needs some clarity ... what does this mean? 3 choices: YOu were in 3pane with message preview, message in a tab or message in a standalone window. Does it reproduce in safe mode?
