After copying a bookmark in the bookmark manager, it would be nice to be
able to paste it as plain text in another application (or even in Mozilla
itself). Something like:
Location Name --- URL
If multiple bookmarks were selected, then all of them should be pasted,
seperated by newlines. If a folder is selected, it should do something like:
Folder 1
Folder 2
Location1 --- URL1
Location2 --- URL2
Folder 3
Location3 --- URL3
Location4 --- URL4
Folder 4
Location5 --- URL5

See also bug 70952, "Bookmarked URLs are pasted improperly" [in a plain text
context], which is about being able to paste the URL (only) into a textfile.
At least on Windows, 4.x does half of what's being asked for here. Here is the
result of copying the "Developer Information" folder from Mozilla's bookmark
file, in NN 4.76, and then pasting it into a text file:
Developer Information
http://www.mozilla.org/get-involved.html
http://www.mozilla.org/docs/
http://www.mozilla.org/source.html
Standards
http://www.w3c.org/
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/
User interface design
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/mac/HIGuidelines/HIGuidelines-2.html
http://www-3.ibm.com/ibm/easy/eou_ext.nsf/Publish/561
http://msdn.microsoft.com/ui/
http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/basics/
Close, but no cigar: no titles.
Also, the context menu for bookmark items in the "Edit Bookmarks" window in
4.x contains both a "Copy" item and a "Copy Link Location" item. Pasting into
a plain text context, both paste just the URL; presumably if both are intended
to appear, "Copy" should really do "Copy Title and Link Location". The reason
for mentioning this is that depending on one's needs at any given time,
either could be preferred, and certainly neither will always be right for
everyone.

Oops, forgot to mention: the result of copying "Developer Information" in
Mozilla's own Bookmark Manager and pasting it in a text file:
<A HREF="">Developer Information</A>
No sign of the contents of that folder. (Tested with 2001-05-20-22 and a build
just befor 2001-05-04 on WinNT).

This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state.
If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way.
If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar).
If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state.

MASS-CHANGE:
This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but still has no comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project 5 years ago.
Because of this, we're resolving the bug as EXPIRED.
If you still can reproduce the bug on SeaMonkey 2 or otherwise think it's still valid, please REOPEN it and if it is a platform or toolkit issue, move it to the according component.
