User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.2; WOW64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20110902 Firefox/6.0.2 SeaMonkey/2.3.3 Build ID: 20110902180055 Steps to reproduce: Try to got to display any sound or video file on the internet that uses windows media player. Actual results: I get this error "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page." If I click on "Install Missing Plugins" a box labeled "Available Plugin downloads" comes up with Windows Media Player 11 listed. I click on "Next" and it says "No plugins were installed." I click on "Manual Install" and it directs me to http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download. The problem: I had already run wmpfirefoxplugin.exe and installed the plugin. Running it again doesn't fix anything. The plugin just doesn't work with Seamonkey on Windows x64. Expected results: I should be able to get a plug in that works with Seamonkey on Windows XP x64, and play files that use Windows Media.
OS: Windows Server 2003 → Windows XP
A test page for reference: http://hg.mozilla.org/qa/litmus-data/raw-file/tip/firefox/plugins/mediaplayer.html about:plugins, about:addons | Plugins, does show NPMSWMP.dll (aka Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8)? Your OS is XP x64 & SeaMonkey is 32-bit (you never know there could be an x64 out there)? (OS being 64-bit & browser being 32-bit should not be an issue AFAIK.)
Just installing that plugin does not work, because it not aware about SeaMonkey, you need to copy np-mswmp.dll file from Firefox plugins folder to SeaMonkey plugins folder (create it, if not exist)
