User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 Build ID: 20110928134238 Steps to reproduce: I have uninstalled the ask toolbar. Actual results: Then I close my Firefox. After that, I open the Firefox. In the first time, there is nothing happening. I try again. Firefox window appears in weird shape then it disappears. I think the Firefox windows is minimize, then I have a look at Task Manager. The Firefox process, firefox.exe is not there. I have attached the weird shape of Firefox window.

This happened to me once. I have no idea about it. I just try to re-install it then it works fine. It may be the solution for you.

I guess the localstore.rdf file in your profile is damaged (it remembers size and position of your windows, toolbars, etc ...). An easy way to reset it, is to restart in Safe Mode, and then choose the option 'Reset Toolbars and Controls'.

I have seen this before as well. Not just on one machine, or even on the x86_64 architecture. I have seen it happen on Windows only, and usually accounted it to the way Windows handles applications, but it only seems to occur when using Firefox or Thunderbird, so I could be wrong. It hasn't bugged me enough to really look into it, but I found this looking for another issue. Thought I would throw my two-cents in.
Similar problem here. I completely unistalled Firefox and reinstalled the latest version. It shows as running in task manager, but the Firefox window never opens. I'm using Windows 7, SP 1.
