When you tap the text area, the keyboard doesnt appear. To make the keyboard appear you have to presss and hold the menu button 2. When you do so, the keyboard blinks. You have to release the menu button when the keyboard is visible 3. EVERY TIME you tap on the textarea, (for example to jump to a different point in the text) the keyboard disappears 4. After this, you make the keyboard reappear with the menu button, yoy start typing. After typing the first char it jumps to the beginning of the text!! Expected results: Should work normally

This was filed in the wrong area thus it never got seen by the appropriate people. Firefox for Android has its own product. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox%20for%20Android
The device this was reported against is no longer supported. Due to the age of the bug I am going to close this as incomplete. If you can still reproduce this with a supported Android device I can reopen and move it to Firefox for Android.
