User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1
Build ID: 20110928134238

Steps to reproduce:

I have connected to my Google calendar. It is configured to send email notifications about upcoming events, unless otherwise specified by the individual event.
Every event I create via Tunderbird/Lightning explicitly specifies "pop-up" as the notification type, which is terrible. It means I may not get a useful notification (via email) if I create an event the "wrong" way.
The fix should be dead easy: just throw out the code that explicitly sets the notification mechanism; my calendar defaults will do the right thing.
Assuming that you are using the Provider for Google Calendar extension: change the reminder type from popup to email when creating the event.
