Our IT department says this needs to be configurable before we can setup our staging server in-house.  See comments in the bug that this bug is blocking.

2) No password on the DB. This isn't acceptable, even for staging, surely not for production. We need to be able to set a username and password (and the app needs to find that from the settings file)

Actually I just reviewed the platform README, and the db user and password are already configurable via utest-ds.xml. So I think that solves this issue? Although perhaps root/no-pw shouldn't be the default.
