Much of the time when I am searching for a person, I end up with a single search results. A small part of me rebels at having to click on the result that I _obviously_ wanted to view, because this is inefficient. It would be nice if when there is a single result I would simply be taken to it.
Nice idea! It's worth slotting this into 1.3 with the other UX pieces.

Owne, are you working on this? It's been re-opened for awhile now and I know you had a commit for this pre-LDAPfree. Shining any light on this would be great.
Its on the todo list however since elastic search is returning so many results its become a usecase we hit less and thus a lower priority.

Hi Aaakash I'll pick this bug up once i'm out of hospital. I've had to delay writing the final tests for Bug 681106 because of this and once i'm out and have that finished i'll claim this. Regards David
