Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:10.0a1) Gecko/20111015 Firefox/10.0a1
Build ID: 20111015042139

Steps to reproduce:

Cut/Copy/Paste methods

Actual results:

Using different methods does not always work within each environment (scratchpad - pending bugs), URL bar prepending http://

Expected results:

There seems to be 3 ways to cut/copy/paste text from one location to another.

After hilighting:

Ctrl-C copies text
Ctrl-V paste text

Almost always there is a right-click menu option "Copy" sometimes shown with shortcut keys Ctrl-V

Another option that works in every Windows based application Ive used since the 1990's and in all other Mozilla programs Im aware of that is Shift-Del (deletes but also copies to the clipboard) and Shift-Ins from the clipboard.

Shift-Ins is recognized by Windows as an acceptable method for pasting. Shift-Del just seems to work as copying/deleting but I dont find a published definition for that step.

If you have the trimURL property set to True and use Ctrl-C or the r-click/menu it prepends the http:// to the url for pasting into another location.

If you use Shift-Del it does not. This seems to only apply in the URL bar and nowhere else.

I would like to see this Universal across all Mozilla products. Shift-Del and Shift-Ins works fine in this window to copy and paste.

I dont know if this is a bug or not, but I was asked and couldnt verify. Thx.
