This was a big surprise to me.

I did the following:

* Ran Aurora with -P. Created a new profile.
* Set up Sync logging prefs (logOnSuccess, set a few to Trace, set one of my custom prefs).
* Relaunched.
* Tools > Set Up Sync.
* "Create a New Account".

At this point I was presented with a login dialog for MP. (See attachment.)

Hitting Cancel displayed the wizard. Hitting "Create a New Account" presented the dialog again.

This looked like our test for whether there's a master password is failing. However, I fired up the Web Console and tried it out:

--
[20:57:31.178] Weave.Utils.ensureMPUnlocked();
[20:57:31.184] true

No dialog.

Subsequently, the setup wizard launches without a prompt. Restarted Aurora; couldn't reproduce.

So, I created a new profile, and the same thing happened.

==== STR ====
* Create a new profile.
* Open about:config.
* Tools > Set Up Sync.
* "Create a New Account". Master Password dialog pops up.

Oh shit, I thought. Let's try the released version of Aurora in which I'm writing this.

Affected. I have not tested Beta or Firefox 7.

Oh dear. Is this expected behavior? I can't imagine that it is.

/me files. I'm putting this in Backend until we know where it ought to go.
Ah, found it.

Perhaps these STR would be useful? It's certainly good to know that current Aurora is affected!
