We have a variety of users tracking their sync logs and seeing UNKNOWN_HOST and then filing bugs or twitter reports or etc.  Adding useful human text to tell people to go check their network first would reduce false positives.

Not sure I agree with this bug as is. Definitely needs more discussion before it can be a [good first bug]. Having XPCOM error messages and tracebacks in the log is perfectly reasonable. They're not meant for users, they're for developers. We already stop showing any kind of errors for network problems like these, so the only way a user would be able to see this log is if they went snooping around about:sync-log. With Syncorro and meaningful error objects (bug 675130), much of this becomes obsolete anyway.
