I'm Affiliates Firefox translator and now I see that text on the many banners not matching content. Except banners for Android i not translated this text. How correct these issues?
Hey Leszek, The text for the banners wasn't pulled from verbatim. It was taken from these etherpads: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/ff-affiliate-l10n or https://etherpad.mozilla.org/Fx4-Affiliate-l10n (we had to take away the 4) https://etherpad.mozilla.org/ff-mobilebuttons-l10n https://etherpad.mozilla.org/ff-plugin-l10n Please let me know if there are errors. Thank you!
Hi Leszek, I translated these buttons in a spare moment. Let me know if you have suggestions on how to improve them, we can discuss here :)

Thanks Chelsea. Please tell me where I can check my translation? Do you have any template or place for check? Maybe .pdf?
Hey Leszek, I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean the buttons that are currently live on affiliates or the buttons we're updating in bug 685451? Let me know and thanks!
(In reply to Chelsea Novak [:chelsea] from comment #4) > Hey Leszek, > > I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean the buttons that are currently live > on affiliates or the buttons we're updating in bug 685451? > > Let me know and thanks! Buttons for affiliates. I spoke with stas on IRC (stas translated text for upgrade Firefox), and stas wrote comment #7, and 8 in the bug 685451. We saw problems with buttons for check pugins and for upgrade Firefox.
Hey Leszek, Cool. Follow that bug and I will post the new images there when they are ready. Thanks! C
(In reply to Chelsea Novak [:chelsea] from comment #6) > Hey Leszek, > > Cool. You want to change the desktop buttons as well?

(In reply to Chelsea Novak [:chelsea] from comment #8) > You want to change the desktop buttons as well? Yes, Mentioned by stas "PRZYSPIESZ" is on the desktop button. Also I changed one word for Plugins button.
Leszek, I'd like to argue with your choice of wording. Most importantly, I don't understand why you don't want to decline the word "Firefox" in all sentences. When saying "Upgrade Firefox", the object is required to be presented in the accusative form, "Firefoksa." Can you repaste your transaltions with the correct declension, please?
(In reply to Staś Małolepszy :stas from comment #10) Stas, as we spoke on IRC, in these cases „Firefox” is proper form and there is no call for change.
Yes we did, and I told you that I didn't agree :)
(In reply to Staś Małolepszy :stas from comment #12) > Yes we did, and I told you that I didn't agree :) You can don't agree, but Polish grammar is Polish grammar. :) If we take your reasoning, we will have e.g. „Aktualizuj programa” instead „Aktualizuj program”.
I second stas opinion. We'd never say 'Aktualizuj programa', just like we'd never say 'Aktualizuj Firefox'. We would say, however, 'Aktualizuj program Firefox'. But with just the 'aktualizuj' and 'firefox' the combination is 'Aktualizuj Firefoksa'. Perhaps even 'Zaktualizuj Firefoksa', but that's a different word choice here, not a grammar problem we're discussing. So: Download Firefox Pobierz Firefoksa OR Pobierz przeglądarkę Firefox UPGRADE to Firefox HERE ZAINSTALUJ Firefoksa TERAZ OR ZAINSTALUJ przeglądarkę Firefox TERAZ etc.
So, based on yesterday's comments, the designer laid out corrected buttons. Can you all check them and let me know if further changes are required. http://www.intothefuzz.com/rhonda/mobile_plugin_banner_ads/corrected_banners/PO/ I leave the debate of polish grammar to you all to sort out. I get to be part of enough of those in English ;)
Chelsea, I am afraid Leszek is wrong here, so the designer's work was not necessary at all. Firefox is declensed as any other proper name and the "Firefoksa" declention is correct, see Polish Mozilla l10n project official dictionary: http://wiki.aviary.pl/Mozilla:S%C5%82ownik?title=Mozilla:S%C5%82ownik&oldid=8748#Firefox
(In reply to Chelsea Novak [:chelsea] from comment #15) > I leave the debate of polish grammar to you all to sort out. I get to be > part of enough of those in English ;) You are right. We can discuss about Polish grammar in the another one place. Now about new banners: All 110x32arroW - change Firefox to Firefoksa All 110x32bubble - change Firefox to Firefoksa All 120x240arrowFinal, and 120x240bubbleFinal - theses are very bad :(, we must change as follows: PRZYSPIESZ swój Internet ZAINSTALUJ Firefoksa TERAZ All mobile_dl_160x600 - change Firefox to Firefoksa All mobile_dl_300x250 - change Firefox to Firefoksa All 468x60arrow_PO, and 468x60bubble2 - change Firefox to Firefoksa FF_Plugins_180x150 - is OK
Hey guys, I need some kind of consensus before I move forward with getting anything designed again or corrected. Please confirm that the suggestion in comment 17 is correct and I will move ahead.
As Leszek finally agreed with the correct declension ("Firefoksa"), comment 17 looks ok to me.
"Pobierz Firefoksa" and "Zainstaluj Firefoksa" are correct forms. Names of applications (e.g. Firefox) should be declined differently than common nouns (e.g. program). See (in Polish): http://poradnia.pwn.pl/lista.php?id=6569 So: "pobierz program", but: "pobierz Firefoksa".
Removing from 1.0 as obviously it wasn't a blocker. :P chelsea: Was this ever corrected?
Target Milestone: 1.0 → ---
Will look into it and see.
Marek - Can you confirm if Wojciech's comment needs addressing or if the buttons as they stand are okay. If they are, let's close this bug. if not, please let me know!
The banners I see at affiliates.mozilla.org are OK with this exception: https://affiliates.mozilla.org/media/uploads/locale_images/pl/Android_preview_pl_Red.png It should read: GDZIEKOLWIEK JESTEŚ and NOT: GDZIEKOLWIE KJESTEŚ
Product: Websites → Firefox Affiliates
Just a note, this bug is still valid. Banner with incorrect text is still available on production.
Okay. I will get it laid out again. Thanks for pinging on it mkelly.
Hi Marek - can you confirm if this is correct now? https://www.dropbox.com/s/nu2b87kqj0f9r4j/mobile_dl_160x600_PO_V2.png
