696097 - error opening db 80550006, 80004005 and 80520006 messages in msdb, nspr log, and popup errors about opening the summary files

Will occasionally get popups complaining about accessing the summary files.
NSPR_LOG_MODULES=MSGDB:1 gives messages like:
error opening db 80004005
error opening db 80520006
error opening db 80550006

In SeaMonkey issue is resolved by closing mail window and reopening from non-mail window.
In TB have to restart client.

Please qualify "occasionally".
What folders is it complaining about?
Are your folders on a file share, like bug 905576? I may be seeing a different problem but I'll not it here anyway, in case it's related. I don't have visible popups about opening the summary files.  I AM seeing msgdb log entries roughly every half second for error opening db 80004005, error opening db 80520006. I am not seeing 80550006. My folders are on local drive. The db is "aux.msf", likely from many months ago when I was testing if "aux" folder name caused problems on windows (like "con").  

There must be some perf hit.  Also, my log starts with 17MB of null, for reasons which I don't yet understand. 

In Thunderbird I unsubscribed the folder, but it didn't help.
