Since ~2 month ago (if my memory serves me right) app tabs autoloading feature has been pushed into mozilla-central. I know that many users prefer such behavior for some things like email, news etc. But some users (and I) hate hangs and freezes which are results of high CPU usage at startup. Firefox have option "Not to load tabs at startup" and I think should have option "No to load app tabs at startup". Or, if you think it is too complicated for new firefox users, add this ability to about:config.
