Until we get all the other fields in the original design, the Bio field is the only field where people can put interests, tags, areas worked on and so on. I just tried to find someone working on Networking, but I can't, because the search doesn't search the Bio field.

should turn up my entry.

This is going to be invalid once we land "groups" in bug 657069 .

The particular use case may become invalid, but I still think it's valuable for the general search to search the bio field. Don't you think?

I don't agree, but I'm open to discussing the use cases related as to why. So, if you've got some, post them as a bug comment!

Well, search is about searching :-) You never know which thing about someone you will remember when you want to find a person again. "That guy who said he was into collecting seashells"...

If it's a lot of technical work, I can see it would be lower priority than searching the more structured fields. But I can't see an active downside...

Search does perform a search across text in the bio field.

Bumping to verified on prod - Search works across all fields, including the bio. Thanks for filing Gerv! Great suggestion.
