I haven't done any profiling, so I can't point any fingers right now. However, scrolling the linked page is an exercise in frustration.

The page scrolls just fine for me on a 2011-10-24 Mac nightly, not logged into Github (so with whatever the default view is).....

That's interesting. I'm logged in and a member of the project. When I log out, it scrolls pretty smoothly, while logging in make it pretty unbearable.

OK, can you save the page you see when logged in as web page, complete and see if you can reproduce the issue with that? If so, attach it here?
