Details

On trunk build 0221, mac only

Manually add the 'pdfviewer' plugin to the 6.x plugins folder
Launch browser, and type "about:plugins" in url bar
Observe that the plugin's description says "Embedded JVM" which is wrong

Expected: The plugin description should say "Portable Document Format" like in
4.x
Severity: normal → minor
Priority: -- → P5
Hardware: PC → Macintosh
This is correct on Windows.
Moving to m1.0.1 and reassigning to peterl.

Shrir, can you try this with ONLY the PDF plugin.

If it's blank, like mine, then it could be the fact that we aren't setting a
string to null

Peter,
yes, the description is blank (with only the pdfviewer plugin inside the plugins
folder)
This looks kinda like a bug in the resource fork of the plugin. It has a null
string for "Name" and I think that's screwing everything up.
Arun,

If you have a chance to chat with any Adobe folks, that in their browser plugin
for the Mac resource fork, their name field is empty.

In any case, we should handle this correctly anyway
Triage...-->mozilla1.0

To nominate, clear milestone and put in keywords.
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.1 → mozilla1.0
is it just me? Acrobat does not list in "about":plugins" at all on mac 0517
trunk. can someone check ? Thanx!
No, it works. It's just the Acrobat plugin on Mac doesn't have the right
resource fork entry and we screw up on that.
I have not seen this for quite some time. Marking WORKSFORME. If anyone see
this, please re-open. Also note what plugins you had in your System Internet
Plugins and also local Netscape folder plug-ins folder.
