Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0

Preconditions:
1. Firefox is installed in properly working

STR:
1. Open a new tab
2. Go to http://www.amazon.com/
3. While page is loading, move the focus to a new/other tab
4. Observe the amazon tab favicon

Expected result:
Loading and then Amazon specific tab favicon should display smoothly

Actual result:
Tab favicon flickers loading vs Amazon favicon

Note:
Could not reproduce this with other websites
Summary: Amazon tab favicon flickers when page is loading in a non-focused tab → Amazon tab favicon flickers when page is loading
Happens in latest m-c trunk win32 build as well.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:10.0a1) Gecko/20111027 Firefox/10.0a1
http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/ccfa9105af73
Issue is reproducible on Firefox 3.6.16, as well.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 Firefox/3.6.16
I could reproduce this on Windows Vista using Firefox 9 beta 1.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0
I am unable to reproduce this with Firefox 9.0b2 -- please confirm if this is still an issue.
The initial issue (flicker at page load) is no longer reproducible, but if you reload the page a short flicker can be observed.

Builds:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:9.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0
OS: Linux → All
This behaviour looks site-side. Looking at your screencast it looks like content is loading post pageLoad. Can you test this in other browsers to see if it happens?
Verified on other browser and the flicker cannot be observed:
Opera 11.51
Chrome 15.0.874.121 m
IE 9
Can you work on a minimized testcase? If this is something we can reproduce in a minimized testcase it is likely a Firefox bug. However, I suspect this is a server-side issue which is being exposed by Firefox.

I need more data to go on before I'm willing to call this a Firefox bug.
Status: NEW → UNCONFIRMED
Ever confirmed: false
Preconditions:
1. Firefox is installed in properly working

STR:
1. Open a new tab
2. Go to http://www.amazon.com/
3. Reload the page (F5/Reload button)
4. Observe the amazon tab favicon

Actual result: tab favicon flickers when the page finishes to load

Expected result: Page should load with no flicker.
Comment 9 is essentially the same as comment 0 and adds nothing to this bug. You need to create a minimized testcase (html, js, or something) which reproduce this issue.
This can not be reproduced by locally using the amazon html source. The onload event fires before all assets are downloaded.
This is likely something happening server-side then that we cannot control. This will likely remain unconfirmed unless someone on the development team (or Amazon) can help to debug this issue.

For now, QA has done all it can.
If we don't get any traction on this issue in the next 2 weeks, please resolve INCOMPLETE.
