The following new r4 minis in scl1 need to go for hardware repair:

06248	c07dx275dd6h talos-r4-snow-047	won't turn on
06144	c07dv4lpdd6h won't turn on
We need to coordinate disabling the machines in the same chassis with these two so they can be pulled and given to desktop to send in for hardware repair.

06135 c07fc417dd6h	talos-r4-lion-045	DOA
Pulled all three bringing them to MTV1 to go out for repair

Matt has given these machines to Henry for repair. Please assign this bug back to the server ops: releng queue when the machines have been delivered back to Matt after repair.

Apparently we didn't buy applecare on the R3 minis.

Zandr spoken to WeFixMacs about drive replacements on these machines in the past.

If it's more than replacing drives or RAM, I wonder if it's going to be worth
the cost. Can we get a quote to fix, or do they not operate that way?
06144 - contains 16GB unsupported Kingston RAM, RAM needs to be replaced

06135 - Reseated Ram, powers on fine
06248 - boots up in verbose mode, powers on fine

06144 I believe got a RAM upgrade from us. I will attempt reseating it again and if that doesn't work then we need to look at getting new Kingston RAM dropped in this box. The other two I will re-deploy at SCL1.

06144, 06135, 06248 - have been returned and racked in scl1.
06144 was put back prematurely. It has now been removed (again) to be brought back to mtv1 for repair.
talos-r4-lion-045 has been put back into the chassis and installed.
talos-r4-snow-047 has been put back into the chassis and booted up.

06144 is still non-functional and heading back to mtv.

Releng, please do what you need to with talos-r4-lion-045 and talos-r4-snow-047.
Digipengi reseated the ram but upon testing 06144 is still non-functional. It will be returned to mtv1 on Thurs.

Same with this mini, 06144, it's been gone for months. Do we have it back from repairs yet?
Sorry, these machines were mixed up with other minis when they came back a few weeks ago. I'll set these on Jake's desk first thing tomorrow.

06144 : Was taken in for repair, thought is was a RAM issue, even if it was the RAM the machine isn't covered under warranty.

I swapped out the ram and that didn't make a difference.

The machine won't boot at all, makes a single beep (no chime) when powered on and doesn't boot. Definitely a hardware issue, we can send this through Computer Care and they can give us an estimate of needed repairs.
06144 should be less than a year old. Why isn't it covered under warranty?
They were unable to pull up any information with the serial number (C07DV4LPDD6H), no proof of purchase or warranty info. Do we have a proof of purchase for this? I'll try to dig up any info I can find on this but am almost certain this wasn't ordered through Desktop.
06144 Sent out to Computer Care, awaiting estimate on cost for repair.

Do we now have confirmation that this is covered under warranty and an ETA for the repaired machine to be returned to us?
Returned from Computer Care, replaced logic board and ram modules. Placed on Jake's desk.

06144 has been returned to scl1 but is still showing signs of hardware fault. In deploystudio, the diskutil hangs while unmounting the disk. This happens in the partitioning section of the reimage workflow and when changing partition in the diskutil directly.
This mini has been given back to Desktop for further repairs. It probably needs a new disk.... and a witch doctor.
