I think this issue is not just about the star button. If a long tap is performed on any webpage listed in the Awesomelist drop down for the context menu, the Awesomelist will remain on the screen until the back button is tapped. It cannot be dismissed if a tap is performed outside the Awesomelist UI or if the star button is tapped. If the Menu button is tapped, it won't be displayed. Also because of this, when the device orientation is changed, the Awesomelist might be displayed over the Tab bar.

I see. In those instances it is quite difficult to get rid of the awesomelist.
